On Monday, June 6th at 6pm you can meet the drivers and see the cars heading through Nevada at the Sourdough Saloon on highway 95 through Beatty, Nevada. So check it out! 
Beatty Nevada, Tuesday, April 05, 2011: The Beatty Lions’ Club is proud to announce the 1st Annual Beatty Lions’ Memorial Day Weekend Celebration, May 27 thru 30, at Beatty’s Cottonwood Park.
The weekend will start on Friday at the local cemetery; on Cottonwood St., with a Flag placing memorial at noon. Later the park will open for vendors to set up for Saturday morning, and will end with vendor dismantling on Monday morning. Friday will end with live music up town.
Saturday will begin with a Pancake breakfast that begins at 8:00, and a parade that will start uptown at 10:00 am. The day will continue with a Poker Run that will take participants on a circuit of local “Ranches” that could be as long as 250 miles in length. The day will continue with a Dutch Oven Stew Cook-off, vendors and other entertainment.
The centerpiece of the event, the Flag Ceremony will be held on Sunday at High Noon. The day will again start with a hearty Pancake Breakfast, and then an open Chili Cook-off with no legal ingredients outlawed. The day will also hold other events and entertainment.
While this celebration is still in the planning stages, other events will include Bed Races, and perhaps even a family friendly carnival and more live music at the local gathering places throughout the weekend.
