Why Nevada Landmarks?? (reprinted from www.nevada-landmarks.com)
Why not? Why shouldn't I seek out and find all of Nevada's 267 historical markers? Well, amidst my everyday goings on in life and my busy photographic schedule, I decided to take a break and hit the road! Where was I going? What was I going to do? The grueling sounds of car alarms, locking one's self up in the newest "insta-house" are the usual norms of today's society. The days when appreciating dancing clouds, long afternoon sunsets, the whimpers of coyotes at night, or the roostertails left behind by galloping mustangs were soon becoming things of the past in a society where change and progress are 'necessary anecdotes'. Hence, my story begins...
What I began to pursue ended up becoming a passion, a passion that became an end-all goal. When my venture began, I didn't know what kind of response I would receive, let alone really find out just how many other people had this same idea: to visit all of Nevada's 267 Historical Markers. It turns out, I became the first person to officially visit every Nevada historical marker in the state! Now, this all sounds cool and prestigious but that's not how I thought of it. I never knew how many fellow marker hunters there were out there and for a moment, I had to think about what this endeavor would entail. If it was one thing I wanted to leave behind with this site, it was simply knowing that history is alive and well, history that was still celebrated proudly by my fellow Nevadans. Mission accomplished!
